Paraben's Maintenance Subscription FAQs

Q. How much does a maintenance subscription cost?
A. Each subscription is approximately 20% of the retail price.

Q. Do I receive a maintenance subscription when I purchase a new product?
A. All new purchases are automatically entitled to a one year free subscription from the date of purchase.

Q. What if my maintenance subscription lapses?
A. Paraben's subscriptions must be continually maintained. If you lapse in your subscription, you must purchase a subscription for the period of time you lapsed. This will give you access to any updates released during your lapse as well as any updates released during the remainder of your subscription. If your lapse spans longer than a year, you will be required to purchase more than one year-long subscription to catch up. Please remember that even if you do not use each version released during your lapse, Paraben continues to develope the software and that technology makes it into the current version you have access to when you catch up on your subscripiton.

Q. Are there any products that are excluded from the maintenance subscription plan?
A. Yes, subscriptions are not available for our free software such as P2 eXplorer Free and Shuttle Free.

Q. If I have never purchased a maintenance subscription from Paraben and I purchase a year subscription now, when does it take effect?
A. The main thing to remember is that subscriptions must be continuous and cannot lapse. Subscriptions that have lapsed will start at the beginning of the lapse. There are three scenarios:

1. You have a license you purchased before January 1, 2006: In this case, if you purchase a subscription at any time, it will begin on March 1, 2006.
2. You want to purchase a subscription that expired March 1, 2007: Because your subscription has lapsed for more than a year, you will need to purchase one subscription to catch up on the updates up to March 1, 2007 and if you wish to continue your subscription past that date, you will need to purchase a second year long subscription that will take you to March 1, 2008.

Q. Where/how do I renew my maintenance subscription?
A. You can purchase your subscriptions from our website or you can phone or fax your order to us. We are in the process of updating our registration site to display all subscription information. When that is complete, you will be able to see the details of your subscription and renew it from your account.
