  • You will want to update your dongle anytime a new version of the software is released.
  • Software locked to a dongle must be updated through dongle manager in order for the software to run as a full version.
  • You will need to download the software from your registration account, to ensure that software version on the dongle matches what is installed on the machine.

Step 1

Start with downloading the software from the Paraben registration end-user account. When you install the software it will also install the most current version of the dongle manager.

Step 2

Plug your dongle into the PC and wait for the PC to acknowledge that the CBUSB 2.0 Driver was installed successfully. After successfully loading your drivers you will launch Dongle Manger program with the dongle plugged in.

Step 3

The dongle Manager will launch and the following information will be displayed:

  • The dongle number
  • The customer’s end user account that the dongle is registered under the products that are licensed on the dongle.

If your dongle is not recognized you will get an error message. If this happens, reload the dongle manager program or try another USB port.

  • If you have a new license that has been placed on your dongle you will see New! In the information section.
  • If you have an update to an existing license you will not see anything in the information section just the updated version number.

Step 4

Verify that the product(s) displayed are correct, the select the ‘Update Dongle’ button. You will get the message that the dongle was successfully updated. After this is done plug the dongle into the computer you have the software version installed on and the software will run as full dongle version.

NOTE: If you have multiple Dongles, you MUST shut down and restart Dongle Manager in order for the new dongle to be recognized and repeat the above steps to update the licenses.
